Tanaka General Store is heavily guided and influenced by my Japanese American upbringing, experiences, and community, specifically out of San José Japantown — in addition to designing things in general (ha, get it?) that I just find amusing.While this is only currently a side project to track my design endeavors and journeys in one cohesive place, my hope is that this can one day become a place of reflection and gratitude for the life I've been so lucky to live.Who knows, one day I might actually sell something!So, why the name "Tanaka General Store?"The name "Tanaka General Store" takes inspiration from Hasegawa General Store, a 100-year-old-plus fourth generation family run business in Hāna, Maui.
